Who: Christian youth groups and leaders, adult groups, family groups, or inter-generational groups (minimum of 5, must include at least 2 participants over 21 with 6:1 team member to adult ratio)

When: Your team can serve either a weekend (e.g. Friday pm-Sunday); long weekend (e.g. Thursday pm-Sunday); or full-week [Sunday afternoon through Friday noon] Contact us for available dates depending on your choice of time frame.

What: Summer Encounter teams can involve full-week or long weekend commitments for youth groups (with their leaders), adult groups, families, or inter-generational groups. Teams are based in the Bronx and will assist various inner-city ministries and churches in doing outreach and opportunity to hold a children’s Bible Club in various public parks and playgrounds. Itinerary planned according to the preferences of your group. During your trip there will be many other opportunities for ministry (based on availability with those partnering ministries):

• Making and distributing food to the homeless and disadvantaged families

• Service projects at the World Vision Storehouse

• Service projects with a church or Christian school (e.g. rearranging classrooms for beginning of semester, or painting or cleaning projects, etc)

• Prayer walk/intentional sightseeing

• Other, depending on date and availability

Priority 1 staff will coordinate all opportunities with inner-city host ministries and, if team wishes to work directly with children, will facilitate the teams’ Bible Club preparations. Priority 1 will provide training prior to arrival in the city, and provide all craft materials for your group prior to the VBS week.

Cost: Full week Outreach: $375/person Weekend Encounters [when available]: $225/person
